The nursery's main aim is to develop the potential of the children in its care.
Children learn best when they are happy, secure and confident. In order for children to achieve this we must first ensure that they are properly settled into their new environment.
Change for a child is sometimes difficult to cope with, particularly if a child has had one principal carer. Therefore, the settling in period can be quite traumatic initially. This is perfectly normal, and is part of the integration period, which is short lived and often as traumatic for the parent. At the Nursery we encourage parents to stay with their child for as long as they feel the need.
In achieving the child's trust, and confidence our aim is to provide a stimulating, carefully planned, structured learning environment which meets the child's individual needs. Emphasis is placed on giving the child a variety of experiences through play, and creating the opportunities for the child to experiment, and explore the world around them.
This can be achieved through some of the following activities:
Role Play - Encourages through creativity, language, socialisation and imagination.
Construction - Develops motor skills, creative thinking and spatial concepts.
Books - Develops language skills, picture recognition and listening skills.
Physical Play - Indoor & outdoor equipment to develop co-ordination, agility and strength.
Art & Craft - Encourages to explore textures, techniques and colours.
Music & Dance - Stimulates an interest in varied sounds & self expression through dance.
Malleable play - promotes sensory development.
All the aforementioned activities form part of a child's eary learning, and are encouraged through play and enjoyment.
The nursery is continually congratulated on the confidence of the children in its care.
